About Me
I was fortune enough to stumble across my passion for broadcast just a few weeks into my first semester in college. Unsure of what I wanted to pursue, I blindly signed up for a tour of Pitt Studios during a freshman career day, and I was amazed by what I saw. It was my first time seeing a control room, getting to roll a replay of an alley-oop to Dejuan Blair, pretending to cut cameras on the switcher, and getting to listen to a PL record of a past Pitt basketball game. I didn't understand most of the control room dialogue, or the workflows of each seat in that control room, but I knew right there I needed to learn. The next day I had completely switched my course load around, ending up on the waitlist for broadcasting 1. I attended the class for 3 weeks while on the waitlist, until finally a spot opened up. I was the only freshman in the class, and lacked much of the experience my peers had. This was my advantage- I had everything to learn and the work ethic to do so. Just two years later, I applied and got hired as an intern with Pitt Studios/Acc Network, working my first broadcast as a TOC. From there came bug Op, then CG Op, Robo cam Op, Replay Op, and then in my first semester as a senior, directing a full digital broadcast in the same control room I was given a tour of just a few years back. This is why I am passionate about Sports Broadcasting- having that constant drive to keep wanting to get better, to learn from those around me, and to treat each day as an opportunity to grow in different roles.
I am an aspiring Director, Replay Operator, and On-air commentator in live sports. As an undergrad, I have had multiple quality opportunities to build experience in the industry, spending three years with Pitt Studios and the ACC Network working as a Productions Assistant, a summer with the High-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Hudson Valley Renegades, in a similar role, and lastly as a Sports Reporter for a News show Pitt to the Point on KDKA/CBS local. I also spent some time as a Freelance Producer for a series called the Legacy Mural Foundation, featuring Western Pennsylvania athletes such as Joe Namath and Jimbo Covert.
I directed my first live game on July 13, 2022 on Milb.tv, as well as another game later that month featured on MLB.tv showcasing the High-A debut of #2 prospect Jasson Dominguez. Since then, I have directed baseball, softball, and soccer at the digital show level on the ACC Digital Network, and remain driven to continue to learn and grow in this role. My favorite thing about this industry is getting to be around all the thrilling moments, intriguing stories, and unique environments that sports provides us, and I can't wait to continue my career in Sports Broadcasting!
